Are you a passionate and skilled Healthcare Support Worker looking to take the next step in your career? A unique opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and highly regarded team within the 43‑beded Stroke Unit at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, where we deliver expert, patient‑centred care to individuals recovering from stroke.
We are seeking an experienced HCSW who brings compassion, initiative, and strong clinical skills to the role. You’ll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, playing a vital role in delivering outstanding care and making a real difference to patient outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
* Completion of the National Care Certificate
* Confident and competent in ECG recording
* Venepuncture and cannulation skills
* Experience with stroke patients
* An excellent team player with strong communication and time‑management skills
Shift and Working Hours
You’ll need to be flexible and able to work a rotational shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – therefore, we require you to be fully flexible across all shift patterns.
Banding and Appointments
This post is advertised as a Band 3; however, applicants that do not meet the required care‑certificate competencies will initially be employed as a Band 2. Applicants who hold a care‑certificate accreditation will start in post at Band 3.
Assessment and Interview
As part of the selection process you will be required to complete a numeracy and literacy assessment alongside an interview.
