Responsibilities
* Special Constables are volunteer police officers who give their spare time to police their communities.
* Work alongside regular police officers and staff, bringing your life skills and experiences to support the community.
* Once trained, have the same powers as a regular police officer to help protect and support the people who live in Dorset.
Requirements
* Commitment: you will need to contribute at least 16 hours of your time each month on average per year (200 hours in total per year).
* Personal qualities: honest, respectful, selfless and motivated.
* Legal/role note: Under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 this post is politically restricted.
