Pay Rate: £40,000.00
Grade: RCS grade L
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift Patterns: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Security Clearance: Enhanced clearance required due to working environment. Candidates must meet all security and vetting requirements for a prison setting and provide a minimum of three years’ continuous UK address history.
About the Role
We run warehouses inside prisons as part of DHL Supply Chain. Inmates order basic goods (e.g., shampoo, chocolate) which they pay for themselves. As Warehouse Manager, you will play an integral role in the prisoners’ lives, supporting rehabilitation through effective warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Regional Manager with day‑to‑day running of the warehouse.
* Oversee daily activities while supervising and coordinating a team of prisoners.
* Manage, support and develop Warehouse Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Order Distributors.
* Maintain accurate stock control and effective inventory management.
* Monitor operational performance and drive achievement of KPIs.
* Manage site budget and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiencies.
* Provide operational support to other sites when required.
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and prison rules.
* Maintain and update staff training and induction programmes.
Qualifications
* Experience leading, managing or supervising a team and motivating staff.
* Experience within a warehouse or logistics environment (understanding of stock control, order distribution, goods handling).
* Comfortable using IT systems to support day‑to‑day operations, maintain records, monitor stock and produce reports.
* Strong work ethic, “can‑do” attitude, reliability and initiative.
