We are seeking a skilled and motivated Brokerage and Placement Manager to lead and oversee a high-quality care sourcing and purchasing function.
Our new Commissioning and Procurement Hub collaborates with clients to develop and execute procurement strategies that meet their success criteria. We leverage experience and lessons learned to ensure the most effective approach, supporting all stages of the commercial lifecycle and maximizing value for our clients.

About the role
The successful candidate will manage a team responsible for purchasing care and support services on behalf of the council and the Integrated Care Board (ICB), ensuring access to high-quality, appropriate, and cost-effective care for residents.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the procurement of person-centered, cost-effective, and high-quality care and support services.
* Managing a team of Brokerage Officers and Senior Brokerage Officers to ensure timely delivery of services.
* Developing and maintaining processes and guidance for effective care purchasing, including workload management.
* Negotiating and communicating with suppliers, handling complex procurement issues.
* Implementing strategies to secure value for money in care purchasing.
* Maintaining expertise in the care market, purchasing tools, and operational policies.
* Identifying gaps and capacity issues within the local care market to inform strategic planning.
* Facilitating joint working with commissioners to share concerns about providers proactively.
Any-Desk:
This role requires connectivity to our network via digital platforms, accessible from home or office, with a requirement to work from the office a few times weekly, depending on team needs.
About you
Experience required:
* Significant experience in a senior role within relevant service areas or professional fields.
* Extensive experience in supplier negotiation and relationship management.
* Strong knowledge of the health and social care system, including legislation and regulations.
* Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders in complex environments.
* Experience in strategic market development, risk management, and resource management.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
