The AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure Project Delivery Practice (PDP) is the centre of excellence for the delivery of infrastructure projects and combines the best in project management and design management to provide a full suite of services to clients in the public and private sectors.
The team is responsible for delivery of design services across our markets of Water Infrastructure, Defence Infrastructure, Nuclear, Aviation, Energy, Rail (stations), and Urban Developments.
We have an exciting new opportunity in the Infrastructure PDP for an Associate Director to join our North, Scotland and Northern Ireland (NS&NI) practice, based from our Newcastle or Stockton office. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career and further their responsibility for project delivery from inception to completion.
This position is suited for an established Associate Director / Associate or Senior Project Manager with proven experience in successfully delivering projects. The role involves a mix of agile working from our NS&NI offices and time at client sites and offices.

Working within the Infrastructure PDP offers the chance to handle a diverse portfolio, including refurbishment, new build projects, nuclear, defence, water projects, and more, providing opportunities to enhance your project management skills and experience.
Applicants should have several years of multi-disciplinary infrastructure project delivery experience, preferably within a consultancy, and be responsible for leading and successfully delivering major projects from concept through to handover.
Responsibilities include:
* Deliver projects to targets such as schedule, budget, and quality, and develop strategies to meet objectives.
* Manage contractual and commercial risks, and identify opportunities.
* Lead and develop the project team, fostering motivation and problem-solving.
* Coordinate communication with clients, team members, subcontractors, and partners.
* Agree on commercial arrangements and communication plans with other teams and global centers.
* Manage the project delivery programme, invoicing, credit control, and financial reporting, including Earned Value analysis.
Requirements:
* Chartered Engineer/Architect/Project Manager or equivalent with experience in managing large infrastructure projects.
* Recognized level of competence in Project Management (e.g., APM PMQ) is desirable.
* Experience with various construction contracts, especially NEC3 or 4.
* Familiarity with BIM and 3D modelling tools for design and coordination.
* Ability to identify new business opportunities and contribute to growth.
