The Role: Project Engineer An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a world-leading manufacturer. This is a full-time, permanent position based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, offering the chance to work on innovative engineering projects that serve customers across multiple global markets. In this hands-on and collaborative role, you’ll coordinate product approvals, testing, and qualification for a wide range of products. Working cross-functionally with quality, operations, and commercial teams, you’ll help ensure new and existing products meet strict technical standards and customer requirements while supporting continuous improvement and engineering excellence. Main Responsibilities (Project Engineer): Organise and manage internal and external product testing, validation, and approval programmes. Qualify coupling and hose products to customer and regulatory standards. Analyse test results and compile detailed technical documentation and reports. Support the development and improvement of product designs, including assisting with drawing reviews and new part creation. Develop and maintain crimp data and coordinate the manufacture of test samples for validation. Liaise with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and to specification. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and promote best practices across local and global teams. Represent the company in technical standards discussions and industry meetings when required. Skills & Experience (Project Engineer): Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience). 5 years’ experience in product design, development, or testing within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple technical projects. Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Confident analysing data, writing reports, and communicating findings to stakeholders. Proficient with Microsoft Office; CAD experience desirable but not essential. Positive, proactive, and collaborative working approach. Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas. Salary & Working Hours (Project Engineer): Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience). Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (day shift). Location: Based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, with occasional travel (1or 2 times a year).
