Key Responsibilities as a Workshop Controller / Fleet Controller:
1. Manage and coordinate daily workshop activities to optimise productivity and quality standards
2. Oversee fleet contracts and ensure compliance with service schedules
3. Act as the main contact for fleet clients, advising on vehicle servicing and repairs
4. Collaborate closely with technicians to monitor job progress and ensure timely completion
5. Coordinate parts ordering, workshop scheduling, and workflow management
6. Maintain high levels of customer service and operational excellence
Required Skills for the Workshop Controller/Fleet Controller role:
7. Extensive experience in workshop control, fleet management, or senior technical roles (minimum 10+ years in the automotive industry)
8. Strong organisational and leadership skills to oversee a busy workshop and fleet operations
9. Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on customer relations
10. Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
11. Full UK driving licence
12. Enthusiasm for delivering top-tier customer service and operational efficiency
13. Flexibility to manage workload as per business needs
Nice to Have Skills:
14. Experience with fleet management platforms or CRM systems such as Kerridge / Pinnacle
15. Knowledge of in-house software for parts ordering and workshop loading
16. Familiarity with van fleet management or commercial vehicle operations
Preferred Education and Experience:
17. Relevant automotive qualifications or certifications
18. Experience leading a workshop or fleet service centre in a similar environment
This role offers a competitive basic salary of up to £38,000, plus bonuses of approximately £250–£300 per month, with working hours Monday to Friday (8am – 5.30pm).
