Role Purpose

We are recruiting for an Up2U Case Officer to deliver the Up2U Creating Healthy Relationships programme to individuals seeking to change abusive behaviour and improve their relationships. The program aims to reduce the risk of future domestic abuse incidents and improve healthy contact for families.

Core Responsibilities

* Lead on delivering domestic abuse prevention work with perpetrators of domestic abuse using the Up2U Creating Healthy Relationships programme, demonstrating a clear understanding of the detrimental effects of abuse, particularly on children.
* Conduct pre‑assessments with potential service users to assess suitability for the programme and take appropriate action together with referring officers, including highlighting alternative programmes when necessary.
* Conduct relevant risk assessment and identify and implement appropriate risk‑mitigation actions.
* Engage with Multi‑Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) to make informed decisions on relevant prevention approaches.
* Work alongside Dorset Police and Children’s Services to develop and embed effective triage processes to enhance safeguarding measures.
* Provide expert advice, verbally or in writing, on perpetrator interventions to Dorset Council and statutory Community Safety Partner agencies.
* Collaborate with Dorset Police and the Community Safety Team to develop a Restorative Justice approach to perpetrator interventions.
* Conduct meetings with service users and other professionals as necessary, documenting them accordingly.
* Liaise with other agencies as appropriate, attending core group and case conferences as required.
* Deliver presentations or workshops about the programme, and attend meetings, seminars and conferences as required.
* Lead on the continuous development of domestic abuse perpetrator programmes.
* Collate and record information needed for monitoring and performance purposes.
* Undertake evaluations and questionnaires for men and women using the service.
* Participate in team meetings and attend appropriate training courses.
* Participate in regular support and supervision.
* Adhere to relevant legislation, good practice and policies and procedures, including Pan Dorset Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures.
* Attend line management sessions as requested and provide information on client work, service delivery and organisational issues to the project team leader.
* Implement decisions agreed in line management meetings.
* Keep up to date with developments in good practice and legislation affecting domestic violence and participate in relevant training.
* Support the Head of Community Safety with additional duties required by the project, and undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post.
* Comply with all statutory requirements including the Equality Act, Health and Safety at Work Act and Data Protection Act.

The Ideal Candidate

Excellent communication skills, previous experience working with perpetrators of domestic abuse, experience of case management and working in a multi‑agency capacity. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team, prioritise workloads with minimal supervision and assess complex information to mitigate risk. Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible approach are also essential.
