Fixed Term Contract (initially until 31/03/2027 - subject to extension, on success of grant funding bids) Bath & North East Somerset Council seeks an ambitious Assistant Design Officer to join the multi-disciplinary Regeneration team, based in the Sustainable Economy Service. In this career graded post, the successful candidate will be able to progress towards a Development Officer, Senior Development Officer and Principal grades within the role on delivery of key milestones. The post will be extended on successful award of future funding. The Regeneration team has secured over 26m in project delivery funding over the last four years and is now progressing a range of ambitious regeneration schemes in Bath city centre, local high streets and the nearby towns of Keynsham, Midsomer Norton and Radstock. About the role: This role will be responsible for supporting the team with a focus on design of High Street renewal schemes in Bath city centre and other design projects. You will work closely alongside other service areas within the Council as well as partner organisations to achieve this. Work will include supporting spatial design, graphic design, masterplans and leading on small scale public realm/design projects, and associated community engagement. About you: You will be able to demonstrate how you can bring your knowledge and experience in design, graphics, desk top publishing and geographical information systems to support the team. This role offers the opportunity for flexible working, with a combination of working from home and office working. Office time will be mainly spent in Guildhall office in Bath, easily accessible on public transport. Hot desking workspaces are also available in the Keynsham Civic Centre/Studio 22 in Bath and the Hollies in Midsomer Norton.
