We’re a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) school committed to helping young people thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our team is warm, resilient, and creative, and we’re looking for someone who shares our ethos.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll:
Build trusting relationships and provide consistent, trauma-informed support to pupils with SEMH needs.
Deliver targeted interventions (literacy, numeracy, social skills) under teacher guidance.
Support behaviour regulation using de-escalation and restorative approaches.
Adapt resources for individual needs and contribute to EHCP targets.
Assist with small-group and 1:1 learning, plus classroom routines.
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers.
What We’re Looking For
Availability: Monday to Friday (term time).
Experience: Supporting children/young people—ideally within SEMH, PRU, alternative provision or mainstream with additional needs.
Skills: Calm under pressure, excellent communication, reflective, and a team player.
Training: Willingness to learn and follow safeguarding and behaviour policies.
Qualifications: Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential. We value the right attitude and potential.
We Offer
Strong, supportive team with high-quality CPD (e.g., de-escalation, attachment & trauma, autism/ADHD awareness).
Staff wellbeing support and regular supervision.
A purposeful role making a tangible difference every day.
