Position Overview
IT Business Analyst – RDT Biometrics & Clinical Evidence within Roche Digital Technology. This senior role operates at the intersection of clinical science, product strategy and technology delivery, owning the vision and innovation pipeline for the Study Designer product. A hybrid work model requires presence in the office on average two days per week.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary link between clinical/scientific teams and product engineering, facilitating discovery workshops with medical experts.
- Define and own the feature roadmap, balancing business, scientific and technical needs; lead design‑thinking sprints to identify opportunities, create business cases and track success metrics/KPIs.
- Author precise, actionable user stories, epics and acceptance criteria; partner with UX to produce wireframes and prototypes, filtering requests based on value.
- Translate complex clinical workflows into structured requirements; collaborate with engineers on technical risks, dependencies and solutions.
- Partner with architects, senior engineers and QA leads to ensure scalability and quality; support UAT design and execution.
- Lead all agile ceremonies, groom a sprint‑ready backlog and resolve impediments or misalignments.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clinical and scientific leadership, guiding them on how digital capabilities can reshape clinical trial design.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in product management, senior business analysis or hybrid product leadership for complex digital products and at least 5 years hands‑on experience in clinical trial design or related life sciences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science or Information Systems; Master’s or PhD preferred; Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP valued.
- Proven end‑to‑end product lifecycle management, including discovery, deployment and value measurement.
- Deep understanding of core software development concepts: APIs, data models, microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Extensive experience with agile/scrum frameworks and ownership of backlog management and sprint execution (JIRA, Confluence, Productboard).
- Scientific fluency to engage in protocol design and regulatory conversations, combined with systems thinking to connect features to clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
- Leadership, influence and adaptability: ability to lead, build coalitions, influence senior cross‑functional stakeholders without formal authority.
