About us:
King's College London is one of the UK's leading research-intensive universities, with a strong commitment to excellence in education, research, and innovation. This post will be based in the Department of Psychology, within the School of Mental Health and Psychological Sciences at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). The Department has a vibrant and collaborative research culture spanning clinical, health, and cognitive psychology.
The role will involve close collaboration with colleagues across the School as part of the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS), which provides expert methodological and research design advice to health and care researchers across England.
About the role:
The role is divided between supporting the delivery of funded clinical trials within the Psychology Department and contributing to the mental health and neuroscience focused NIHR Support Service Hub hosted by King's College London and Partners.
You will play a key role in the innovative NIHR program grant, REFUEL-MS, which is developing and evaluating a tailored digital treatment to help individuals with multiple sclerosis effectively manage their fatigue. You will be involved in analysing data and preparing publications for other trials, such as the PACT-AM trial, evaluating personalised acceptance and commitment therapy for Parkinson's disease, and the evaluation of the COMPASS online psychological treatment for individuals experiencing psychological distress related to long-term health conditions.
As part of the NIHR Research Support Service Hub hosted by King's College London and Partners, you will be fully immersed in a dynamic team dedicated to research methodology in mental health and neuroscience. This hub is committed to helping researchers improve people's lives by understanding how to prevent mental health difficulties and find better treatments. As a member of the NIHR RSS hub at King's, you will collaborate with a diverse team of methodologists to provide support, advice, and expertise to researchers, especially those applying for and receiving NIHR funding, especially fellowships, with a focus on quantitative aspects of the design.
This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31/03/2028.
