Overview
An opportunity has arisen within the Pathology Department at Grantham & District Hospital for a Biomedical Assistant, based in the Blood Sciences department. Previous laboratory experience would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.
Responsibilities
* Perform analyser maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and simple manual tests under supervision to ensure samples meet turnaround times.
* Carry out audits, stock checks, stock rotation, reagent preparation and general support to Biomedical Scientists.
* Participate in the Out-Of-Hours roster.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Good communication and keyboard skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and independently once fully trained.
* Willingness to learn on the job; previous laboratory experience is an advantage.
