🌿 Qualified Gardener / Horticulturist – Devon (EX15)
A growing landscaping company based in Devon is looking for a dedicated and experienced Qualified Gardener / Horticulturist to join their professional team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-end residential and commercial gardens, applying your horticultural skills across a wide range of tasks, from garden design and planting to maintenance and specialist landscaping work.
You will be part of a skilled and supportive team, working directly with clients to maintain, enhance, and transform beautiful gardens across the Devon region. Your expertise and attention to detail will play a key role in delivering exceptional horticultural services.
💰 Salary & Benefits
1. Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
2. Location: Devon (EX15)
3. Hours: 7:30am – 5:00pm, 5 days a week (9 hours/day)
4. Holidays: 30 days per year
5. Other Benefits: Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Pension
🔧 Key Responsibilities
6. Deliver high-end gardening and general maintenance across client sites
7. Implement garden designs and carry out soft landscaping projects
8. Perform shrub and tree care, including standard arboriculture tasks
9. Operate ride-on mowers, trailers, and other horticultural machinery safely
10. Install, maintain, and manage irrigation systems
11. Read and work from garden drawings and plans (preferred)
12. Work directly with clients, providing excellent service and communication
13. Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and to a high standard
✅ Requirements
14. NVQ or RHS Level 2 in Horticulture (minimum)
15. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high-end gardening and landscaping
16. PA1 & PA6 certification
17. Strong knowledge of plant identification, shrubs, and tree care
18. Experience with soft landscaping and garden design implementation
19. Ability to operate machinery including ride-on mowers and trailers
20. Full UK driving licence
21. Strong communication skills and confident working in a client-facing role
22. Local to Devon
23. Experience reading and following garden drawings/plans is preferred
