The role: We are currently seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Construction Management programme. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends. Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What youll be doing
As a Lecturer in Construction Management, you will deliver modules related to the principles and practices of construction management, including the legal, environmental and technological context of today’s construction industry. You will develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, undertake all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment of students, and keep up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.
Responsibilities Include
* All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work to ensure that all learning outcomes are met
* Developing, updating, and improving course materials as appropriate
* Using a variety of learning and teaching methods and materials
* Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties
* Keeping up to date with the latest developments in your field and student support practices
* Working towards a range of clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression
About You
* Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable)
* Have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area
* Demonstrate extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter
* Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback
* Have experience of accurate reporting and maintain thorough and organised student records
* Be able to work under pressure and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
* Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills
* Be able to work with diverse groups of people
Desirable
* Hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commit to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent)
* Have experience of design and development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent
