SEND Teacher - Independent Specialist School (11-16)
Salary: £32,700 - £43,000 + £5,000 Welcome Bonus!

Our client, is an independent SEMH specialist school for students aged 11-16, many of whom have EHCPs and diagnoses such as ADHD or ASD. The school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people who have struggled in mainstream education or are at risk of exclusion.
What You'll Do
Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.
Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Promote pupils' social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school's behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective, personalised support. What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
Experience teaching in Secondary education
Proven experience working with pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in specialist education settings
Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and a passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
Humanities specialism preferred but not essential Benefits of the Role
