Job Title: Stress / Finite Element Analyst – Aerospace Location: Derby (Hybrid – 3 days on site per week) Contract: 12-Month Contract (Outside IR35) Rate: £30–£40 per hour (DOE) We are seeking a Stress / Finite Element Analyst to join a leading aerospace OEM on a 12-month contract. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week on site in Derby, with flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days. This position is outside IR35 and offers between £30–£40 per hour, depending on experience. The Role * Conduct stress and finite element analysis (2D/3D FEA) on gas turbine components * Work on both rotating and static parts to meet technical, fit, form, and functional requirements * Use ANSYS, Hypermesh, and UG NX for modelling and analysis * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (materials, life management, heat transfer, design) * Produce technical reports and present analysis results to stakeholders * Support component life assessment activities (fatigue, fracture mechanics, damage tolerance) What We’re Looking For * Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline * Minimum 3 years’ experience in gas turbine stress analysis * Strong 2D/3D stress and structural analysis knowledge * Proficiency with ANSYS, Hypermesh, and UG NX * Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM is advantageous * Experience in fatigue, fracture mechanics, or damage tolerance This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects with one of the aerospace industry’s largest OEMs, while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid setup.
