This role provides a unique chance to contribute to high-profile and influential work, delivering legal support across a wide range of marine matters. The successful candidate will provide expertise in domestic, assimilated, and international marine legislation, as well as fisheries, marine renewables, and marine environmental law. Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Solicitor Role: Deliver in-depth legal analysis of complex and extensive legislation, advising a broad range of stakeholders including senior officials and Ministers. Assess lawfulness and legal risk, offering clear recommendations to manage and mitigate risks. Provide timely and robust advice on Ministers’ functions and duties relating to the marine environment. Communicate complex legal and technical issues clearly and concisely, building trusted relationships across the Marine Directorate, Scottish Government and UK Government.
