Hours: 16.66 hours per week (Mon-Thurs afternoons) 52 weeks per year
Salary: Pro Rata salary from £30,000 up to £38,144 per annum (Subject to skills and experience)

HMP Isle of Wight have an exciting opportunity for a Plastering Lecturer to join the prison-based Education Team. We are seeking a creative and inspiring Lecturer who can deliver engaging classes to learners who are based within the prison. As a Plastering Lecturer, you will support learners to achieve success and guide them through the courses. You will help them to achieve qualifications up to level 2 with City & Guilds, and support them to develop confidence and skills for employment on release or other job opportunities within the establishment.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE
In this role, you will:
* Play a significant role in the design, development and delivery of learning that meets learners’ needs and complies with internal and external quality criteria; aligned to the Prison Education Framework Delivery Plan, College strategy, and stakeholder plans.
* Understand the learning needs of the student population, deliver challenging and engaging sessions.
* Prepare, teach and mark as required, using data to set challenging targets.
* Set and monitor SMART learner targets and use ILPs effectively.
* Ensure all students are enrolled onto programmes; maintain accurate records of completions, withdrawals and achievements.
* Assist in administration of learning and maintain records of learners’ activities, progress, assessment schedules, schemes of work, course reviews and induction programmes.
* Promote high-quality teaching and learning; develop materials that meet equal opportunities requirements.
* Liaise with outside agencies, including examination boards, as required.
* Develop Skills for Life within learning programmes.
* Promote equality and diversity in all duties.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE & QUALIFICATIONS
* Relevant degree or equivalent vocational qualification
* Full teaching qualification (DTTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards
* Teaching/training or vocational experience in a relevant discipline/subject area and up-to-date knowledge
* Proven track record of supporting diverse groups of learners through nationally accredited programmes
* Knowledge of current curriculum and accreditation developments within Further Education and related subject areas
