This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an AHP to fulfill the role of Advanced Practitioner in HyperAcute Rehabilitation at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
You will need to be a forward thinking, motivated and experienced AHP Advanced Practitioner (dietitian/occupational therapist/physiotherapist/speech and language therapist), with proven leadership and clinical skills to lead our proof-of-concept HRS based at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
This is a new pilot project so the post holder will be responsible for setting up, leading and developing a -month proof of concept specialist hyperacute rehabilitation service with a small team of AHPs and Rehabilitation assistants..
It is a month fixed term contract.
Main duties of the job
The AP postholder will provide clear and decisive operational leadership to the Hyperacute Rehabilitation Service Team.
The AP postholder will be responsible for the ongoing professional development and performance of all members of the Hyperacute Rehabilitation Service Team.
The AP post holder will provide expert clinical skills in the rehab of acute patients with complex needs, working closely with the dedicated MDT to deliver high intensity, specialised hyperacute rehabilitation under the direction of a Rehabilitation Medicine consultant, for a moderate number of appropriate OUH patients. The AP post holder will collaborate with the project team and Health Innovation Thames Valley to understand the best method of implementation and evaluation of the new pathway and providing regular updates to key stakeholders.
The AP post holder will lead the HRS MDT on a day-to-day basis, including coordination of staff, and service delivery to ensure the project objectives are being met.
If the proof of concept is successful, the AP post holder will work closely with the project team to provide the required evidence to address long term, sustainable funding for the HRS service.
