We have the exciting opportunity to appoint an experiencedmid-levelBackend Software Engineerto support delivering projects, maintaining and improving our digital products and codebases. You will play a key part in the wider RAC Technology Design community, helping ensure good practice across all domains and adherence to principles
You’ll collaborate on technical designs, influence architectural decisions, and champion best practices in coding and problem-solving. With a proactive mindset, you’ll identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and improve internal processes whilst supporting digital operations.
The successful person will need a high level of technical expertise in.NET Core, C#, SQL, and alongside experience using the Azure Cloud and Kubernetes.
Joining Digital Development Team on a permanent basis,this role will be ahybrid role, where you will spend two days in the office inBradley Stokeand three days at home.
WhatYou’ll Do…
Day to day, you’ll take ownership of designing and delivering innovative technical solutions, creating practical recommendations, and sharing them with both your immediate team and the wider technology function. As wellas;
* Develop high quality software and architecture
* Perform troubleshooting of operational and integration issues
* Attention to detail when writing code and obsessing over delivering high quality solutions to customers
* Keep up to date on emerging technologies ensuring any new tools adopted in the RAC are fit for purpose and commercially appropriate
* Develop solutions using.NET Core, C#, SQL alongside proficiency with the Azure Cloud Environment and Kubernetes
* Able tointerface with the business and make sense of complicated or incomplete requests.
* Provideaccurateestimates for business initiatives at concept as well as challenging existing estimates to ensurewe’reroutinely delivering value
* Able to own technical debt across the technology stack and make practical assessments about the relevant priorities.
WhatYou’llNeed…
* Ability to work with minimal supervision in a very dynamic and timeline sensitive work environment.
* Proficient in industry-standard engineering practices and patterns, including event-driven design, service-to-service communication and building reusable services.
* Good understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
* Thorough understanding of best practice in the software engineering lifecycle.
* Understanding of and a passion for automation
* Must have good stakeholder management, communication, organisation, and time management skills.
* An allergy to duplication and proactively seeks conversations todelete/consolidate duplicate technology
* Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines.
