About: The Rolex SailGP Championship is the most exciting racing on water, where anything can happen in short, adrenaline-fueled battles between national teams at iconic stadium destinations worldwide. Summary: As Data Analyst, you will play a key role in transforming raw performance data into actionable insights for SailGP's teams, coaches, and support staff. You will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality visualizations, dashboards, and metrics that inform sailing performance, support technical debugging, and contribute to the broader strategic goals of the league. This is an ideal role for a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a passion for innovation and elite competition. The position will see occasional event attendance involving engagement with athletes and coaches, as well as public presentations of SailGP's insights. The majority of event based activities will be remote. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain a wide array of tools tailored to team and race requirements, such as simple web apps, dashboards, and video processing. Create clear, compelling data visualizations to identify trends, anomalies, and performance insights. Develop metrics and models to support analysis of boat performance and event data. Play an active part in sailing team debriefs to provide technical data support and answer performance-related questions. Assist the wider Systems Engineering team in debugging and troubleshooting issues using data. Collaborate with other SailGP departments with data or software related queries as required. An expert in python, other languages are a plus. Experience with Influx and SQL is a plus. Experience with developing code within a team environment. Experience with time-series data analysis and dashboard development. Background or strong interest in sailing, marine sports, or elite athletic performance is a plus.
