The Project Engineer SC/Civil Engineer, job itself, which involves working within an established team including Graduate Engineers, Engineering Technicians, Project Engineers & Chartered Engineers and Directors sharing work across our five offices.
The team are continuously developing their skillsets to fulfil the needs and demands of our clients and business goals.
Although the candidate will be based in either the Chorley or Liverpool office there are members of the Civils team based in each office and work closely together with weekly meetings on Teams to discuss the ongoing and ever-growing workload. Each engineer has several projects and clients that need managing at any one time. Quality deliverables and client satisfaction are at the forefront of our everyday responsibilities as individuals.
You will ensure best practices are applied within the office and to assist the Directors with improving design services and operational efficiency.
You will have
To be successful as Project Engineer SC/Civil Engineer here, FIRSTLY you will be (or have been) SC CLEARED. Furthermore, the ideal individual will be self-motivated, driven by a challenge, whilst continually learning new skills and has experience working within a team and is confident at communicating in a consultation environment. Plus you will have a healthy mix of the following:
Minimum three years’ UK based work place experience within Highways and Drainage design
Proficient use of AutoCAD, Site3D and Causeway Flow or equivalent design software
Producing detailed drainage and highway calculations and sketches
Following principles outlined in CIRIA design guides, BRE digest, BS EN 752 and the Design and Construction Guidance
Working experience within the adoptable standards Section 278, Section 38 and 104
Commercial awareness of costing and budgets
Report writing
Site visits to verify that construction complies with the construction drawings
Preparing Specifications
