Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
We are seeking a committed, knowledgeable, and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our supportive secondary school in Braintree. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the outcomes and wellbeing of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Overseeing the day-to-day operation of SEND provision
Coordinating and reviewing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Supporting and advising colleagues on inclusive teaching strategies
Monitoring the progress and wellbeing of students with SEND
Liaising effectively with parents/carers and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be a qualified teacher with QTS
Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be willing to complete it within the required timeframe)
Have experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary school setting
Demonstrate strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
