Job Description
As a PoC/PoV Project Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of proof of concept and proof of value initiatives within the New Hospital Programme (NHP). Your work will ensure innovative solutions are tested, validated, and ready for scale, helping to shape the future of hospital design and digital integration across the NHS.
Key role responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver PoC/PoV projects for priority areas such as smart wards, digital twins, and advanced building systems.
2. Ensure all pilots meet NHS digital and cyber assurance requirements, including clinical safety and data protection standards.
3. Align solutions with the Hospital platform, ensuring compatibility with standardised design and repeatable components.
4. Assess estates impacts and compliance with NHS technical standards (HBNs/HTMs), managing derogations where needed.
5. Apply Construction Playbook principles, including early supplier engagement, outcome based specifications, and modern methods of construction.
6. Maintain robust governance, risk management, and reporting for all pilot activities.
7. Evaluate benefits and produce recommendations for scaling successful solutions across the programme.

Key skills, experience and qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
8. Proven experience delivering PoC/PoV projects in complex or regulated environments.
9. Strong understanding of NHS digital assurance frameworks and clinical safety standards.
10. Knowledge of Hospital principles and their application in healthcare design and delivery.
11. Familiarity with NHS estates technical standards (HBNs/HTMs) and their impact on digital and physical environments.
12. Experience applying Construction Playbook practices in procurement or project delivery.
13. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
14. Ability to manage risks, benefits, and governance in multi disciplinary projects.
Desirable Skills & Experience
15. Experience in healthcare construction, digital health, or smart hospital technologies.
16. Understanding of cyber security frameworks and NHS data protection requirements.
17. Knowledge of BIM, digital twins, or interoperability standards.
18. Exposure to modern methods of construction and sustainability initiatives.
Professional Memberships
19. Project management qualifications (, APM, PRINCE2, Agile).
20. Clinical Safety Officer training or willingness to obtain.
21. Membership of relevant professional bodies (, BCS, IHEEM, IET) is an advantage.
