The Role
Will lead and support procurement activities, including: category management, sourcing, and supplier relationship management for the Consultancy sub-category, delivering contracting solutions to enable Consultancy work across all Business Units.
Will be part of the Consultancy Category within the Professional Services Category team in Indirect Procurement Services, within BAE Systems UK & International Shared Services, which provides common and transactional services for the BAE Systems group.

1. Support the development, review, and maintenance of a robust category strategy to optimize BAE Systems' procurement of consultancy and related services from the external market.
2. Execute sourcing exercises aligned with the category strategy and company processes to achieve optimal outcomes, managing or overseeing the end-to-end procurement process, including stakeholder and demand management, sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
3. Implement the Indirect Procurement Services (IPS) Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) approach to maximize value from existing and new relationships, involving key internal stakeholders.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and requirement owners, addressing escalations promptly within their areas of responsibility.
5. Serve as the primary business-facing contact for procurement of consultancy and related services.
6. Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement, working with stakeholders to review and optimize relevant processes and procedures.
What BAE Systems are looking for from you:
* Significant experience in the consultancy industry, market, and commercial models.
* High-level contract knowledge, including experience in negotiating terms and conditions.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Degree-level qualification or substantial professional experience.
* CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma (MCIPS) or willingness to pursue it (preferred).
Security Requirements: SC
This role requires holding or eligibility for Security Clearance (SC). You must obtain a BPSS check. Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship and having lived and worked in the UK for at least 5 years are prerequisites. Please contact us if you are unsure about your eligibility.
The quoted rate is the Gross Umbrella rate, including all employment costs paid to the Umbrella Company. The actual rate paid may be less, depending on the payment vehicle (e.g., Limited Deemed Rate or Agency PAYE). Please contact us to discuss rates via different payment methods.
