The Team:
FICC Business Finance & Control is part of the GBAM CFO Group, serving as a control and business advisory function. The team primarily handles P&L, balance sheet, and valuation controls, working on varied projects to improve processes. This role supports the EMEA Credit business, focusing on market-making in Credit Products like CDS, Bonds, and CDS Index within EMEA and CEEMEA regions. The team collaborates closely with trading desks, global valuations, market risk, legal controllers, and other support functions.
The team also actively participates in employee engagement and diversity initiatives to foster a great workplace environment.
Role Description:
This role involves supporting business analysis for a Line of Business (LOB), producing financial reports and disclosures in partnership with senior management and stakeholders. Key duties include analyzing product and process risks, assisting with regulatory analyses, and performing critical testing and calculations.
Responsibilities:
* Support financial control, P&L, balance sheet, valuation, and regulatory interactions within the EMEA Credit BFC team based in Chester.
* Calculate and analyze valuation controls, IPV, valuation adjustments, and ownership of quarterly disclosures.
* Collaborate with the GVG group to review and improve valuation methodologies and ensure documentation accuracy.
* Assist in streamlining BFC processes and participate in system development, including technical enhancements and automation.
* Engage with the Accounting Policy Group to implement appropriate accounting policies.
* Support governance and internal control processes, including SOX compliance.

* Expertise in Financial Accounting & Reporting
* Strong Financial Analysis and Reasoning Skills
* Knowledge of Accounting Principles
* Financial Acumen
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or CFA with good accounting knowledge
