Financial Controller Location: Hull
An established and growing manufacturing business is seeking a new Financial Controller to lead its finance function and play a key role within the senior management team. The role could be well suited to a range of candidates from experienced FC's through to strong Finance Managers ready for their next career step. This is a hands on leadership position responsible for overseeing financial operations, delivering accurate reporting, and partnering with operational teams to drive performance and efficiency across the business. Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the finance team, including credit control, management accounting, and purchase ledger
\t
* Produce and present monthly management accounts, including balance sheet and profit & loss
\t
* Deliver timely and accurate reporting to Group in line with deadlines
\t
* Provide meaningful KPIs and financial insights to support operational decision-making
\t
* Partner with senior management to improve cost efficiency and business performance
\t
* Oversee stock control processes and stock takes
\t
* Manage statutory reporting requirements, including VAT and CIS returns
\t
* Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing monthly forecasting
\t
* Manage cash flow, including debtor and creditor performance
\t
* Oversee audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations
\t
* Develop detailed costing models and profitability analysis for projects and products
\t
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, including cost and efficiency analysis
\t
* About You:
\t
* Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
\t
* Proven experience managing / leading a finance function or mentoring small teams
\t
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence operational decision-making
\t
* Hands-on approach with the ability to engage beyond the finance office
\t
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the business
\t
* High level of integrity and professionalism
\t
* Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
\t
