Responsibilities
* Attending and investigating water pollution incidents across Greater London/Thames Valley region.
* Undertaking field monitoring works including water quality measurements and sampling.
* Technical report writing in response to water pollution incidents.
* Provision of accurate and timely information to line management.
* Supporting team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices at all levels.
* Any other duties for which the post holder is qualified and able to carry out.
Qualifications
* Degree in a Biological or Environmental Sciences discipline.
* Understanding of water chemistry and the indicative parameters.
* A full clean UK driving licence.
* Experience in scientific fieldwork, and an enthusiasm for working outdoors in all weathers.
* Competent user of Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.
* Analytical and numerical skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team following precise protocols.
* Motivated, friendly and confident interacting with clients.
* Understanding of the role of regulators such as the Environment Agency (desirable).
* Laboratory analysis in environmental monitoring, and environmental compliance (desirable).
