A well-established food manufacturer in Staffordshire is currently expanding its production leadership team and is looking to appoint an experienced Night Shift Manager to take responsibility for operations during the night shift. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment where strong leadership and operational control are key to success.
The successful Night Shift Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of production across a busy site, maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality and efficiency while leading a large team within a high care and high risk environment.
Shift Pattern
• Night Shift: 22:00 – 06:00
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate and develop a large production team across multiple lines on shift
* Ensure strict compliance with food safety, quality and hygiene standards, particularly within high care and high risk areas
* Manage production performance, labour utilisation and shift KPIs across a complex manufacturing site
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency and waste reduction
* Work cross-functionally with technical, engineering and planning teams to maintain smooth operations overnight
* Maintain strong standards around health & safety, GMP and audit readiness
* Provide clear leadership and support to team leaders and supervisors across the shift
About You
* Proven experience working as a Night Shift Manager within a food manufacturing environment
* Experience managing large teams within a complex manufacturing site
* Strong understanding of high care and high risk food production environments
* A confident leader who can manage performance, motivate teams and drive operational standards
* Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
* A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
