We have an exciting opportunity to appoint two enthusiastic and driven Practice Development Nurses to our Nurse Education team in Velindre Cancer Centre. We are seeking people with skills that enable them to provide education, advice, and support to staff and excellent care to patients. They will need to be highly organised with excellent communication and education skills. They will need to be able to perform the following clinical skills to a high standard: SACT administration, Cannulation, Central Venous Access Device care and maintenance, and Venepuncture. The ability to work well under pressure, to be flexible to changing priorities and work clinically alongside other members of staff are also essential requirements for this role.
Main aspects of the role include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of clinical and procedural programmes across a range of skills.
* Provide support to existing practice development nurses, educators, and assessors ensuring a coordinated and standardised approach to training provision.
* Ensure that applicable policies and frameworks (local and national) are adhered to.

Main duties of the job:
The post holder will be responsible for the development, organisation, delivery, and evaluation of clinical and procedural programmes across a range of skills. The post holder will provide support to existing practice development nurses, educators, and assessors ensuring a coordinated and standardised approach to training provision. The post holder will also ensure that applicable policies and frameworks (local and national) are adhered to. Where appropriate, the post holder will lead on the development of clinical skills policies.
In collaboration with key education providers, the post holder will identify best practices in order to recognise and manage risk during the care of patients, where clinical skills are being used. The post holder will increase clinical risk management awareness and assist in improving standards and procedures.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
