The Role
Want to play a key role in keeping North Somerset safe?
We’re looking for motivated individuals to join our busy CCTV Control Room team. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, we monitor more than 300 public space cameras, respond to emergency calls, manage alarm systems, and work closely with partner agencies to protect our communities.
As part of the Safer Communities Team, you’ll make a real difference in delivering the council’s commitment to community safety.
Responsibilities
* Monitor CCTV cameras and respond to incidents in real time.
* Operate and manage alarm systems; liaise with partner agencies as required.
* Support emergency response activities and maintain clear, accurate records.
* Work within a busy control room environment, maintaining composure and decision quality under pressure.
What you’ll need
* Ability to obtain full NPPV Level 2 police vetting.
* Ability to obtain an SIA CCTV Licence (training will be provided).
* Flexible and able to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
* Confident with IT systems.
* An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills.
* Calm under pressure, able to make sound decisions and remain composed when responding to incidents or emergencies.
Location
This position is currently based at Weston Town Council Offices, Waterloo Street, Weston-super-Mare.
