Are you ready to take charge of supplier quality and drive excellence at a leading British automotive manufacturer?G&P are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to support a leading UK automotive OEM facility in Surrey. This contract role sits at the heart of supplier performance management, supporting new product introductions while ensuring production flow and zero-defect delivery across a high-performance supply chain.Benefits Include:£34.00 per hour (Umbrella pay rate)Inside IR35Initial 36 month contract, with a strong potential for ongoing extensionJune Start DateThe Supplier Quality Engineer will take ownership of supplier quality performance, driving containment, corrective actions, and continuous improvement across the supply base. You will work closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and third-party inspection teams to proactively manage risks, resolve issues, and ensure robust quality controls are in place.Key deliverables will include:CSL inspection plans with entry/exit criteriaQuality reports and trend analysisChargeback documentation and supplier accountability trackingFull documentation of daily inspection activitiesKey Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Manage supplier quality concerns, monitor performance (PPM, NCRs), and implement CSL1/CSL2 controls to maintain production flowDevelop and implement containment, inspection plans, and corrective actions based on root cause analysisLead structured problem-solving using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone techniquesOversee third-party inspections, sorting activities, and manage supplier chargebacksEscalate supplier risks, support mitigation plans, and produce regular quality reports on trends and CSL statusEssential Skills & ExperienceProven experience in a supplier-facing quality role or similar within Automotive or Aerospace.Proficient in quality toolsWorking knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control PlansAbility to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and use metrology toolsStrong data analysis skills using Histograms, Trend Charts, PPM, and Defect RatesFamiliarity with ERP, QMS, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Desirable:Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality, or ManufacturingIATF 16949 CertificationLean Six Sigma Green BeltIf this role sounds like it could be of interest, then please apply today for a confidential conversation.G&P is a world-leading quality management services provider, supporting manufacturers in the automotive, defence, aerospace and industrial sectors, and their associated supply chains, to transform quality and efficiency levels.With over 30 years of experience, we provide tailored solutions through senior management support and expert personnel from our dedicated talent division.
