We are looking for a Trainee Farm Trader to join the Frontier team, based at Market Drayton, on a permanent, full-time basis.
Initially you will work alongside established farm traders and agronomists and, in time, you will be expected to build new business with customers by promoting Frontier’s services and products.
We are seeking candidates with the ability, skills, and desire to develop a career in a commercial sales role and build strong customer relationships. A background in sales is not essential as we are looking for people with a strong interest in agriculture, coupled with strong commercial ambition.

Your Role
As a Trainee Farm Trader your role will involve:
20. Promoting, managing and developing Frontier’s business, products and services within an assigned sales area and to achieve agreed targets
21. Sustaining and developing business relationships with existing and potential customers to facilitate the growth and development of the Frontier business.
22. Developing and supporting our customers in line with the Frontier Values of Integrity, Customer Focus and Expertise.
23. Buying Grain, Oilseeds and Pulses from Farmer customers, both established and new.
24. Selling seed, fertilisers and other inputs and services to farmer customers and develop new sales opportunities.
25. Agreeing terms for grain storage and handling services within guidelines agreed by the Stores Manager/Commodity Trader.
26. Coordinating the sampling and testing of commodities for purchase.
27. Documenting and managing product and service problems raised by farmer customers.
28. Preparing and agreeing an annual business plan for each crop year.
29. Liaising with Frontier’s Commodity Traders/Product Managers on product availability and pricing policy.
30. Establishing a network of colleagues from within own and across relevant departments to support your work and the needs of your customer.
31. Developing close working relationships with the Agronomists to support the needs of the customer.
