Job Purpose
To assist in providing an effective Transport stores service on behalf of the Constabulary.
Key responsibilities
1. To assist in maintaining the Transport stores, including receiving and unloading goods, checking and placing into stock and the issuing of goods and stock.
2. To raise orders to suppliers on the TRANMAN fleet management system.
3. To assist, as required, with the delivery and collection of motor parts, equipment and vehicles.
4. To assist in dealing with telephone queries and personal callers to the Stores.
5. To undertake a range of clerical tasks; e.g. maintenance of records, filing, photocopying.
6. To ensure the Stores section is kept clean & tidy.
Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 2 (4 passes including English and Maths) OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.
Must have an understanding of motor vehicle layout, its parts i.e. engines, braking systems, electrical systems, suspension and transmission.
Experience in stock control i.e. checking/receiving goods, and maintaining accurate records.
Using computer systems for ordering, inventory management, and communication (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
