Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive, self driven and passionate individual to join this business in the capacity of a Information Systems Specialist. The purpose of this role is to improve the service level provided to operational users by developing and improving systems and minimise ongoing costs to the business.
Responsibilities Include:
* Providing timely and responsive first line service systems support to operational colleagues by offering guidance and troubleshooting advice. Escalate issues when additional support is required.
* Maintaining SEM’s Production Information Systems (MES, ERP etc) by carrying out user acceptance testing (UAT), user updates and routine maintenance.
* Training end users in the day to day use of Production Information Systems.
* Document and maintain system configuration and standard operating procedures / Work Instructions.
* Working closely with peers to ensure the smooth running of Information Systems; identifying areas for opportunity and enhancement. cross-functional working with parent company based in Germany.
* Supporting in the delivery of personal and team projects; suggesting ideas for improvement and taking ownership of personal goals to ensure completion.
* Carrying out quality audits on the Production Software to identify and drive improvements to the system.
* Participate and support in continuous improvement activities to ensure systems, products and processes remain current, stable, and continue to meet business requirements; monitor and support improvements where necessary to adapt to future needs.
* Collecting and analysing data; providing teams with meaningful and insightful data analysis in order to support continuous improvement; taking ownership for KPI’s within area of responsibility.
* Fostering good interdepartmental working relationships, encouraging the exchange of information and sharing of expertise between areas.
* Liaising with internal customers, suppliers and other service providers as and when required Providing first line service support to customers.
Our perfect Information Systems Specialist would have:
* Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role,_ ideally within a manufacturing environment.
* Working Knowledge of MES and ERP systems.
* Experience of working with Windows 11 and MS Office (essential).
* The ability to deliver value added results and make informed decisions.
* A positive mind-set; successfully manages projects.
* A can-do attitude with a patient and understanding approach.
Qualifications Educated to degree level:
A STEM related qualification would prove advantageous
