Role Overview
As a Male Care Assistant, you will provide essential personal care and practical support to service users in the comfort of their own homes. You will be responsible for promoting independence and improving the quality of life of those in your care while upholding the core values of Apollo Care.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as you will travel between client homes across Flintshire
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Assist with medication prompts, application of topical creams, catheter care, and eye drops.
* Prepare light meals and snacks while encouraging service users to participate.
* Support with light domestic tasks such as laundry, tidying, and pet care (where applicable).
* Handle and document client transactions for small purchases or bill payments.
* Maintain clear, accurate records and promptly report changes in client health or environment.
* Attend team meetings, mandatory training, and regular supervision sessions.
* Wear Apollo Care uniform and badge during all shifts.
* Operate confidentially and respectfully in accordance with GDPR and safeguarding standards.
Duties
* To facilitate the daily routines of the service user(s) including bathing, dressing, undressing, toileting and personal care and assisting the service user(s) mobility in their own home.
* Empowering the client to being as independent as possible.
* Follow individual care plans to ensure tailored support for each resident's needs.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
* Support residents in participating in social activities and encourage engagement with their peers.
* Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the living environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care.
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
* A valid driving licence is required
* Proficient in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Basic IT skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
* A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others and make a difference in their lives.
* Ability to work flexibly as part of a team while also being capable of working independently when required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.50-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
