The Role
As a Construction Project Manager you will be delivering and managing all phases of both new build and refurbishment projects ensuring they are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
Day to day you will be a delivery-focused, supporting and advising on all matters estates related:
1. Organise the Project, the project team and its delivery
2. Integrating the project team within the business and ensuring that a Health and Safety culture is embedded within the team
3. Managing the activities of the external advisors, including the management of their appointments, via appointed Procurement Team Managers within QinetiQ
4. Management of project documentation to include Bids, proposals and third party documentation (configuration control)
5. Deploy appropriate risk management strategies and methods for controlling quality
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week and we offer flexible, adaptive working options, with typically two to three days working from home. The ability and willingness to travel to various sites is required.
Essential experience of the Project Manager
Experience within project management, you will be a strong communicator, proactive and success-driven individual, and you will demonstrate good experience and credibility and be confident engaging with stakeholders and presenting solutions.
6. Working knowledge of Planning Application and GPDO process
7. Knowledge of Building Regulations, JSP standard, risk management processes and techniques
8. Experience of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and must have acted as client or similar role on a construction related project
9. Working knowledge of NEC contracts as well as JCT
10. Experience of working within the Defence/Security industry is desirable but not essential and we are open to applications from various industries.
