We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to build robust data pipelines and design scalable data architecture at a UK-based AI‑powered reporting and forecasting platform.

The Role
As Lead Data Engineer at ASK BOSCO you will build robust data pipelines, design scalable data architecture and collaborate with Developers, Data Scientists and Data Engineers to deliver insights that drive millions in revenue for our clients. You will report directly to the VP of Engineering and play a pivotal role in defining our technical strategy.
Responsibilities
* Own the Architecture: Manage and optimise end‑to‑end data infrastructure and ELT pipelines using Fivetran, Airbyte and Google Cloud Platform, ensuring reliable data flows from 40+ marketing sources (Meta, Google Ads, Shopify) into our analytics ecosystem.
* Master Data Modeling: Develop, test and maintain complex DBT models, transforming raw data into highly optimised Star Schemas tailored for ThoughtSpot, ensuring lightning‑fast search and analytics performance.
* Empower Intelligence: Bridge the gap between data and visualisation, managing models that enable self‑service analytics in ThoughtSpot, allowing our AI Analyst to query data instantly.
* Lead Innovation: Drive continuous improvement of our data engineering practices, tooling and infrastructure, championing new technologies and automation tools such as n8n.
* Mentor & Collaborate: Act as a technical authority, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with Data Scientists to prepare data for machine learning models.
Qualifications
* 6+ years experience building production‑grade data pipelines and analytics infrastructure.
* Deep expertise in DBT (cloud optional) with strong SQL skills and proven experience designing scalable data models.
* Experience delivering optimized Star Schemas for search‑driven analytics, ideally on ThoughtSpot.
* Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery), tuning queries for both cost‑efficiency and performance.
* Proven experience implementing and managing modern ELT tools such as Fivetran or Airbyte.
* Python experience is a strong plus.
* Git knowledge is a strong plus.
* Experience with SaaS and marketing data sources such as Google Ads, Meta, Shopify, Amazon, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Stripe.
* Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, DBT Copilot) and a desire to leverage cutting‑edge technologies to enhance productivity.
* A passion for debugging complex data issues and resolving root causes.
* Excellent communication skills, translating technical concepts into clear business value for non‑technical stakeholders.
