Job Responsibilities

1. Communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including CRN colleagues, external research teams, Universities, Managers, and members of the public, maintaining a professional approach at all times.
2. Transfer internal and external calls, faxes, mail, and emails; take messages and ensure all issues are actioned, passed on, and followed up in a timely manner.
3. Use all Microsoft Office applications, such as Word for word processing and Excel for data entry.
4. Participate actively in team meetings and discussions, providing constructive suggestions to improve research processes, and implement changes with guidance from the line manager.
5. Provide a professional, proactive service to customers, assisting with colleague absences to handle enquiries and prevent potential problems.
6. Ensure all research department spreadsheets and information systems are accurate and up to date, including data entry and retrieval of research participant information.
7. Prioritize workload, organize tasks to meet deadlines, and highlight potential problems to colleagues.
8. Maintain all files, systems, and paperwork according to departmental procedures, highlighting difficulties or issues to the line manager.
9. Ensure all paperwork is filed or shredded promptly and securely.
10. Perform general administrative tasks such as photocopying, sending correspondence, and ordering office supplies.
11. Support other functions as requested by the Head of Research and Development or the Senior Research Governance Administrator.
