As an Engineering Technician, you’ll work closely with R&D Engineers to support the development, testing, and refinement of new products and the tools and processes that bring them to life. Your contributions will be vital throughout the entire product lifecycle, from early prototypes to production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble and support prototype builds.
* Carry out tests, measurements, and data collection.
* Perform fault-finding and root-cause investigations on development hardware.
* Provide day-to-day technical support to R&D engineers.
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to production.
* Feed back practical, experience-driven insights to improve designs, processes, and manufacturability.
* Record build, test, and measurement data accurately using Excel.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience operating and supporting fibre optic equipment.
* Practical experience with fibre fusion splicing and preparation.
* Experience supporting R&D or NPI activities.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Comfortable working in a workshop and R&D environment.
* Ability to document work clearly and accurately.
