Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Norwich (Hybrid working)
Salary: £27,500 - £33,500
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Opportunity
A well-established, employee-focused organisation is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual looking to develop their career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
You will work closely with the Finance Manager as part of a friendly and professional finance team, contributing to the delivery of accurate financial reporting and supporting key business operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
* Produce and maintain regular cash flow forecasts
* Carry out monthly bank reconciliations
* Prepare and analyse reports for budget holders
* Support with accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Maintain the fixed asset register
* Assist in the preparation of VAT returns
* Post financial transactions using accounting systems (including Sage)
* Generate reports from internal costing systems
* Provide support with purchase ledger processes as required
* Contribute to system improvements and ongoing finance projects
About You
* AAT qualified or currently studying (or qualified by experience)
* Previous experience in a similar finance role
* Strong working knowledge of Sage and Microsoft Excel
* Good understanding of Microsoft Office 365
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
* Able to work both independently and as part of a team
* Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
