The role
As a GFX Maintenance Engineer - you'll be responsible for the maintenance of all designated GFX Equipment to Naval Harbour Acceptance Trial (HAT) Standard, including, maintenance IAW Unit Maintenance Management System (UMMS) and Non-UMMS maintenance:
1. Configure GFX equipment and Infrastructure IAW RFMS in order to meet the requirements of the Trials Programme.
2. Responsible for the maintenance of all assigned GFX equipment IAW UMMS, BRs, JSPs, OEM Handouts.
3. Ensure GFX is safe, maintained, available and configured for daily trials booked on RFMS.
4. Working collaboratively with Combat Systems Engineers, Teams and Customers to provide support. SME advice and Maintainer presence to all trials that require assistance including in situ support. This will include fault finding, defect rectification, reconfiguration of equipment and supporting monthly System Operator Checks as designated by the Operations Team.
5. Ensuring GFX defects are managed and investigated IAW the relevant documentation, registering defects on RFMS, updating defects on a regular basis and keeping the Operations Team informed.
6. Lab Manager duties (45-point check on a monthly basis).
This role is full time, 37-hours per week, and based at Portsmouth Technology Park. Daily hours may be flexible dependant on delivery requirements.
Essential experience of the Maintenance Engineer
7. Experience of working with Communications Systems, including but not limited to T23 ICS6 KMY, KRS, NAMC, Bederal, BIDS, Modems, SCOT 5, MNE, RN Radios and patching procedures.
8. Experience of working with Command Systems, including but not limited to T23 DNA, LPX, T45, T26, Link11, LINK16, STDL, LINK22, NAVFIX, PTFS.
9. Experience of operating and maintaining Type-23 Systems, with the capacity to learn, operate and manage incoming systems for operation within Type-26 and Type-31 frigates.
