Overview
The Recycling Forklift Operative will operate forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials within the recycling facility. This role ensures efficient and safe handling of materials, performs routine forklift maintenance, and adheres to health and safety regulations. The operative will maintain a clean and organized work environment and collaborate with team members to optimize recycling processes.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklifts to move materials within the recycling facility.
* Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
* Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on forklifts.
* Ensure the efficient and safe handling of materials.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Record and report material movements accurately.
Qualifications
* Previous experience operating forklifts in a production or recycling environment.
* Valid forklift operator certification.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
Details
Immediate start on a temp-to-perm basis.
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: 08:00 – 16:30 (40 hours per week)
Breaks: 30 minutes
Pay: £12.74 per hour (basic). OT paid at time and a half.
