Job Summary

We are looking for a Nurse to support a range of business activities including delivering patient clinics and reviewing patient records for our clinical trials and quality improvement (QI) activities. Your work will help improve quality of care for patients with chronic conditions and rare diseases within primary care. You will support practices to participate in real-life research and pragmatic trials aimed at improving patient outcomes, with the opportunity to build and contribute skills in a unique clinical trials unit.

The role is offered on a hybrid basis (3 days in office, 2 days at home) based in either our central Norwich or Oakington, Cambridge office. Key Responsibilities

* Provide a clinical nursing service and support to other professionals with patient screening, optimization of treatment, chronic disease management and advice.
* Recruit and coordinate GP sites throughout the research process, ensuring professional relationships and regular communication with all participating GP sites.
* Obtain and document informed consent (verbal or written) from clinic participants.
* Travel to GP sites to collect and record data as appropriate to the study objectives.
* Initiate new services in line with strategic aims and respond to opportunities as they arise.
* Contribute to the development, review and implementation of patient and clinician resources including questionnaires, clinical decision support, feedback and promotional material.
* Code and verify data in accordance with research protocol and data entry procedures for subsequent analysis.
* Identify, implement and evaluate treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition.
* Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that encourage healthy living and self-care.
* Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication, regimens and side effects.
* Ensure infection control guidelines are maintained.
* Monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment.
* Adhere to information security policies and maintain patient confidentiality in line with relevant standards.


Role Requirements

* A degree in life sciences or Nursing, or relevant applied experience; NMC Registered.


Desirable

* Experience in the primary healthcare sector.
* Experience with primary care electronic medical record systems (e.g., SystemOne, EMIS).
* ARTP Spirometry accreditation.
* Nurse prescriber.
* Specialist experience in research or respiratory disease management.


Professional Registration

* Maintain annual registration with the NMC and ARTP (where applicable).
* Be conversant with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and professional accountability.


Salary and Benefits
