This is a rare opportunity to combine expert consultative selling with hands‑on technical project management. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients from initial site survey through to system handover and onboarding - developing new business, designing technically superior solutions, and seeing projects through to a successful, safe completion.
What you’ll do...
* Conduct professional site surveys, gathering technical data and identifying opportunities to add value through consultative client engagement.
* Design and specify EV Charging and Solar PV systems, producing comprehensive, commercially competitive quotations and project proposals.
* Manage the DNO application process end‑to‑end - G98, G99 and related submissions - keeping clients informed throughout.
* Collaborate with the Operations Director on project scheduling, resource allocation, subcontractor coordination and risk management.
* Oversee procurement, materials ordering and site logistics within approved project budgets.
* Prepare and manage all Health & Safety documentation (RAMS, CDM) and ensure full compliance on site.
* Ensure all installations comply with BS 7671 (18th Edition), IET Code of Practice for EV Charging, and MCS standards for Solar PV.
* Configure EV charge points on OCPP back‑office platforms, including network registration, tariff setup and remote diagnostics.
* Issue all project handover documentation, electrical certification (EICs) and deliver client training sessions.
* Manage client onboarding onto the Rapid Power Group Sales & Management platform.
* Represent Rapid Power Group professionally, actively contributing to the growth and reputation of the business.
What we’re looking for…
* Proven background in technical sales, estimating or project management within EV charging, Solar PV, electrical contracting or renewables.
* Ability to conduct detailed site surveys and translate findings into accurate, commercially competitive quotations.
* Experience managing DNO application processes (G98, G99, Section 16 or equivalent).
* Solid understanding of BS 7671, IET Code of Practice for EV Charging, and MCS standards.
* Experience preparing RAMS, risk assessments and ensuring CDM Regulations 2015 compliance.
* Familiarity with OCPP charge point management platforms and EV network back‑office systems.
* Track record of managing procurement within defined project budgets.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver client training and professional handover documentation including EICs and O&M Manuals.
* 18th Edition Qualified Electrician (BS 7671) or equivalent.
Key Personal Qualities
* Commercially astute with a consultative, needs‑led sales approach.
* Highly organised, capable of managing multiple concurrent projects from sale through to handover.
* Excellent communication skills - confident at all levels, from facilities managers to C‑suite.
* Self‑motivated and disciplined, thriving in a varied, field‑based environment.
* Proactive commitment to Health & Safety best practice.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM tools and project management software.
* Full, clean UK Driving Licence - essential.
Desirable Qualifications
* 18th Edition Qualified Electrician (BS 7671) or equivalent.
* EV Charging installation qualification - City & Guilds 2919, LCL Awards Level 3, or EAL equivalent.
* MCS accreditation or Solar PV installation qualification (e.g., Level 3 Solar PV Design and Installation).
* SMSTS or SSSTS Health & Safety qualification.
* Membership of NICEIC, NAPIT, RECC or a relevant professional body.
