What is the Opportunity?
The role will be joining our Global Onsite-Offshore Front office Application Support team; providing support for Commodities and Futures applications and their interface with various vendors, upstream, downstream, infrastructure, database, and more. This role requires solid communication skills, regularly facing-off to business users, along with good technical skills handling daily support and business requests. RBC’s expectation is that from mid-September 2025, all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
* Key contributor, providing hands-on Level 2 support working with our global application support team.
* Responsible for supporting trading applications like Commodities Openlink, SOA, Pricing Database, XTP, Seals, and other small applications used by the business.
* Work with Senior Management, Front office business users, Traders, Quants, Risk Managers, Product Control, etc., across various geographic locations. Proactively identify operational risks/control deficiencies, review and comply with firm policies.
* Other responsibilities include change management, incident & problem management, audits, EOD batch monitoring, automation, BCP testing, infrastructure planning, and implementation.
* Liaise with internal development teams and external vendors to resolve support issues, find root causes, document processes, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. Lead team efforts during IT incidents, coordinate resources, and track issues to resolution.
* Provide updates to stakeholders, ensure systems meet quality standards, facilitate software rollouts.
* Prepare for planned maintenance, DR exercises, major rollouts, and provide guidance to team members. Report operational risks and control deficiencies promptly.
* Support rotating weekend on-call work, including disaster recovery tests and end-of-day monitoring.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
* Extensive IT experience with a background in Capital Markets.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience working with Front office Business users.
* Support and implementation experience with large-scale production systems, monitoring, root cause analysis, and problem-solving.
* Knowledge of Commodities and Futures Trading activities, Market Data Feeds, and applications like Openlink, XTP is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of ITRS Geneos, Job Scheduler (CTRL-M), Windows, Python, MQ, SOLACE, Oracle, SQL Server.
Nice to have:
* Understanding of ITIL processes.
* Knowledge of DevOps and Cloud technologies.
* Experience in global support with onsite-offshore teams.
* Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools like Tableau.
