Head of Department – Design & Technology (Food, Graphics, Resistant Materials, Textiles)
Location: Braintree, Essex
Start Date: January 2026
Pay Rate: £160–£260 per day
GSL Education are seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of Design & Technology to lead a dynamic D&T department at a secondary school in Braintree.
The successful candidate will oversee a range of specialisms, including Food Technology, Graphics, Resistant Materials, and Textiles, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, motivate, and support staff within the D&T department
* Deliver engaging lessons that inspire creativity and innovation
* Oversee curriculum development and departmental progress
* Promote excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes
Requirements:
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
✅ Strong background in one or more D&T disciplines
✅ Proven leadership or middle management experience
✅ Passion for design, creativity, and practical learning
