Job Summary
We are delighted to invite applications for a 1.0WTE full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term, Band 7 Operational and Clinical Team Manager opportunity within our Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services. This is a rewarding leadership role for experienced and motivated professionals passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and families. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering high‑quality early intervention mental health support within the MHST Early Intervention Pathway.
Responsibilities
* Provide operational and clinical leadership to MHST and CWP teams within the mild‑to‑moderate children and young peoples mental‑health pathway.
* Line‑manage, supervise and provide professional support to practitioners and supervisors.
* Oversee referral screening, allocation and clinical decision‑making processes.
* Manage team performance, caseloads and service delivery targets.
* Support staff wellbeing, development and a positive team culture.
* Collaborate with schools, partner agencies and wider CFHD services.
* Ensure services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with national and local priorities.
Experience – Essential
* Extensive experience managing a busy caseload of clients with complex needs.
* Substantial senior clinical experience.
* Experience working within a community children’s service setting.
* Extensive experience providing clinical supervision and managing staff.
Experience – Desirable
* Budget management experience.
* Extensive experience leading a clinical team.
* Experience setting up or working within a new service.
Qualifications – Essential
* Professional qualification at degree level or equivalent (e.g. Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work).
* Active registration or appropriate accreditation with a professional body (NMC, HCPC, BACP, UKCP, BABCP).
* Training to level 3 in Safeguarding children and young people.
