Reception Teaching Assistant
Location: Kings Heath, Birmingham, B14
Weekly Pay: £500
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (term time only)
Start Date: 13th April 2026
Contract: Long-term (Temp-to-Perm)Long Term Futures is seeking a Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kings Heath. This role involves supporting whole-class learning, delivering small group interventions, and providing targeted support to pupils with SEN.
This is a long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting teaching and learning within a Reception classroom
Delivering small group interventions across early years
Supporting phonics interventions in line with the school's approach
Providing targeted support for pupils with SEN, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis where required
Supporting the class teacher in adapting activities to meet a range of learning needs
Promoting a nurturing, inclusive and structured learning environment
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a primary setting, ideally within EYFS
Skills: Experience leading interventions and supporting pupils with a range of abilities
SEN Experience: Comfortable supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, speech & language, or SEMH
Knowledge: Good understanding of the EYFS framework
Desirable: Experience with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc or Little Wandle
